@interested GSS works wonders but you have to wait for it to reindex any changes. XSLT Search searches you actual content there and then which tends to be what I client wants (as long as your site is < 1000 pages). If they unpublish a bit of content they want it gone everywhere straight away, GSS will still return it in its search results so you end up having to try to filter it out (which takes time and code). If you add a bit of content you want it findable straight away, with GSS you have to wait until you are reindexed, this can be quick on a big busy site (maybe 24 hours) but less so on smaller sites.

Just my thoughts on it.

out of interest, why do you use xslt search over google site search? With GSS you obviously leverage the google index, and overall its cheaper to implement. The only reason i can thing of is if you want to index private content i.e. it sits behind a membership section. But for public content, google all the way.
